Build Phase Support
Railo Technology and its predecessors have executed and attended over 150 ice trials – both for ships we have designed and as an independent authority for ships designed by others. We have the most comprehensive experience on the market in planning and executing ice trial programmes for built icebreakers and ice-capable vessels.
Ice-going vessels require special features in order to achieve efficient and reliable operation in ice. This accordingly can create production challenges, which can be solved. As a designer of ice-class vessels, Railotech can identify these critical areas and ensure that construction is carried out in accordance with the design requirements and specifications.
Quality control across design and production
First, Railotech identifies the critical points of the design. Mostly these are related to hull production, although there are also items in the machinery and piping outfitting.
A quality plan is prepared for the identified points and agreed with the customer regarding follow-up during production. This may involve Railotech specialists participating in certain tests or production phases.
The final check is carried out during the vessel’s commissioning stage.
