Our services at a glance
Railotech’s experience based expertise is in designing mobility concepts for the customer needs. To help our customers, we turn their operational needs into technical specifications based on which the projects and programs can be developed and the vessel or the fleet designed. For this we offer our Advisory Services.
Design and engineering services for mobility in icing waters are Railotech’s core offering. Using our experience and during the decades created Proven Design Solutions, we create concepts for the customer needs. All designs made are tested at our own model test basin and validated with full scale tests when the ship has been built. We also offer test services (model tests and full-scale tests) for other designers, shipowners and operators when they want to evaluate alternatives for further development. Our product portfolio includes also propeller and shaft line solutions for ice breaking ships.
Our Ice Load Monitoring System (ILMS) improves the safety of the crew and the assets. The system is created using our decades of experience in ice conditions and ice going vessel designs. It helps the navigators to make operational decisions in ice conditions. The data can be also collected to make longer term evaluations on ice loads affecting the vessels.

Model Test Services
Railotech’s operate the only privately owned ice test basin. For us it is an engineering tool to verify our designs meet the needs before the ships are built. We offer model test services also for other ship designers, shipyards, ship owners and operators.
